MyHeritage has a more refined search capability than Geni, and if you are on MyHeritage you can now search the Geni database at http://www.myheritage.com/research/collection-40000/geni-world-fami.... You can do a town only search on this search form, which is not yet possible on Geni. Previously I had used a google search "site: geni.com + town" but this seems more efficient.

Wow. This is super useful! Thanks!

I just tried it and it works for non-My Heritage members (like me) too!

Great to know! Charles Marcus, how do you make it work if not a MH member?

I just entered my surnames and towns in the link that Randy provided. Unfortunately, if you're not a My Heritage member, as I'm not, the information you get is limited, just like it is in those "smart matches". But then you can search for the people on Geni. Not perfect, but it could be useful.

I searched and got the information requested.
Unfortunately it was ALL profiles copied from GENI, which I entered in GENI some years ago.

Randy,

I just tried using it. For birth location, I put 'Piaseczno'. It found 13k+ records, most of which do NOT have Piaseczno in the name. What gives?

I tried it and get 176 results for birth place Piaseczno.

Yes, 176 if you enter name only. 13K+ is when I entered a last name as well.

Sounds like an "OR" search. Can you specify the search connector "ALL"?
