Because of her Judaic upbringing, it would seem that she wanted to get a hold of some self-fame and find 'Mr. Right'... and perhaps live happily ever after. Unfortunately... aiming for such a goal can be risky and being a Single Independent Jewish Woman in show business, had it's consequences, if you found out that 'Mr. Right' was 'Mr. Wrong'.

Being what they were "The Marcus Family" would have complerely disowned her, but 'Josie's' calculated risks could have been a fate worse than death. In consolation, it would seem that her marriage with Wyatt Earp, might have been tolerable with "The Earp and Markus Families", as both.Josie and Wyatt remained devoted to one another to their ending years.
