Just for starters, there were at least two of him.
Benett Thomas Bona Nova unk (2 voyages, 1618 / 1620)
Benett, Thomas - muster at Neck-of-Land near James City. Wife Margery on the Gift (several voyages, 1616-1623)
Bennett Thomas Neptune unk (probably c. 1618)
Bennett, Thomas, aged 38 at muster at Besses Choyce, listed with Mary [wife? daughter? other?] aged 18 on Southampton (1622 voyage), Roger Heford and Benjamin Simes.
One (and only one) of the Thomas Bennetts married Alice Pierce, widow of Sgt. Thomas Pierce, who was killed in the 1622 Massacre at Martin's Hundred. (Alice was captured and held for ransom along with her daughter Elizabeth.)
Due to the loss of area records during the Civil War, little more can be learned about either/any of the Thomas Bennetts' background.
Thomas and Alice had only one known child: Richard "Not the Governor" Bennett.
