Having read this: "... Arthur Menton, scholar and author of the monumental two-volume historical and genealogical study The Book of Destiny, Toledot Charlap - תולדות חרלפ and Ancilla to Toledot Charlap. A copy of Volume 1, containing the Charlap narrative, can be purchased online from "Amazon.com..." I bought the book and can recommend it as interesting to genealogists, especially Jewish genealogists.

Harlap refers to Rav Hia who was their ancestor.
Thank you dear Mordechai
You are right Hia in Hebrew must be חייא.
The information in Hebrew in this link is very interesting. So the origin is Galut Babel.
Dear all,
My family left Baghdad on 1978 under Saddam Hussein Ba'th regime. It was so painful that our ancient rich Community of the Babylonian Jewry was scattered around the world, and Toda laEl that most of Iraqi origin Jews came to Israel (Shiva leTzion).
I got married intentionally to an Iraqi origin Tsabar born in Israel, wishing that my children would do the same, getting Iraqi origin spouses.
My daughter who was born and raised in Israel "happened" to get married to a Harlap of "Polish" origin. Then I was so happy to discover that Harlap family origin is from Babylonian Diaspora. So exciting and 'Am-Israel Hai 🇮🇱
Shabat Shalom 🙏🏼
