Roger II is My 23 GGF. This Aaron, according to Geni, is my 22 GGF. There are just some red flags here, not saying incorrect, but I can't find a reasonable candidate for a son of Roger. This family is fairly well documented for a medieval family ( meaning Hautevilles).
Also, Aaron is not a typical Norman name. And a Norman nobleman from the most distinguished family of the age would not have Been a merchant, he would have been a soldier/ mercenary, as being a merchant was felt to be a low class occupation. I have not found a matching coat of arms either for this family with the Hautevilles, the closest I can find is a mantle worn by Roger I with 2 lions and a palm tree, but that isn't a coat of arms. All others listed have no similarity to the 2 stags shown for the Fitz Roger family. Please let me know if anyone finds any further information about this. Anyone know who granted the coa t of arms to them and when?
