Kristen, there are many fictional profiles on Geni. It does no good to remove them. New users just add them back. The better practice is to clearly label them as fictional.
Some people who add ancestors by copying from the Internet don't know that some of what they are copying are medieval stories and legends. We have profiles for many of King Arthur's knight of the Round Table, for example. It can be very hard for some people to accept the idea that there is no historical evidence for Sir Galahad.
I'm not surprised to find Melusine. I made her an MP a few weeks ago, intending to label her as fictional, as I've done for her surrounding family. For some reason I forgot to do that, but I fixed it now. I already had a curator note that she is fictional and she was already in the Fictional Genealogy project.
There was also a real Melusine, a Plantagenet ancestor, on whom the legend was based (or correlated). Her real relationship doesn't quite match the legend as it was recorded. If I find her, I'll make a corresponding note.
