I've started up an umbrella project for all of the Jewish towns in Galicia. http://www.geni.com/projects/Jewish-Communities-of-Galicia/15745

Please join the umbrella project.

Now all we need are volunteers to create and populate the town projects.

I have a project for Khorostkiv/Chorostkow listed on the Jewish portal. I am traveling now so if you can add a hyperlink to it great, if not i will do it later today. It has about 125 profiles on it so far.

Is Radoshkovichi part of that area? sorry to be ignorant, but I just found a lead that my maternal ggm's family may have been from there, but haven't researched it at all yet.

Thanks Malka Mysels

I'm still slightly challenged on the geography front now and then ;)

Private User It is impossible not to be confused with such fluid borders. Similarly geographically challenged, I simply rely on Google search :-)

Thanks for the great links and geographical empathy Malka Mysels ;)

Thanks, Malka, I just forgot about the "Start a New Project" button!

It would be wonderful if a master document similar to Dan Hirschberg's Krakow list was available to help with populating each of the town projects.

Kolbuszowa has now been added.

The best way to build the projects is to go to JewishGen's JGFF and invite all of the folks researching the town to the project. There are tons of people researching these towns, not like our small communities in Bohemia and Moravia, so there should be plenty of volunteers to build the projects.

Thank you. We need a lot of volunteers to work on these projects. The pointers to gather town information will be helpful in finding the collaborators.

I wonder if there is a way to convince geni to add the option to add profiles to projects from the list view. I know I could add the remaining nearly 500 profiles that I need to add to projects much more rapidly if I could go to the list view, sort by place and then use a pull-down menu to add to projects. I requested this option on the suggestions/feedback page, but so far they have not adopted it.

it doesn't surprise me they didn't..

I will do Kopychynsti and Skalat next week.
