We have set up a form for people to submit old family photos for display on our interactive touch-screen table at the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust. We are starting with 8,000 photos and can easily add new ones. Please submit yours. See http://www.lamoth.org/WorldThatWas.html

I wish I had some of my Great Aunt and Uncle who died in the Holocaust. I only fund out about them recently. Wishing you luck with the project!

Sounds 'prima facie' wonderful this new project of an interactive display.
Have to get myself on speed on this in the next few days.
Kudos!

Great. There are so many wonderful old photos on Geni and we'd like to include them in our display. People love to play with the table, which has the photos randomly float to the top so that people can touch them, enlarge them and read about them. It is a great feature of the museum and I am hoping we can add to it.

Thanks Randy!

Randy, is this Holocaust museum and interactive display meant only for victims who died in Auschwitz or victims who died in any concentration camps?

In any camp!

Thank you David. I have at least a couple I will submit.

Not just victims. Any old family pictures from Europe before the war. This part of the museum display is about the life of the Jews who later came under attack by the Nazis.

Thanks Randy for the email. I have just submit a photo. Will submit some more later.

Thanks for this Randy: "Not just victims. Any family pictures from Europe before the war. This ... display is about the life of the Jews who later came under attack by the Nazis." Inclusion of all is a great idea here.

Thanks for the invitation Randy. I don't have any holocaust stuff. Ironically it was not the Jewish side of the family, but the other side who were imprisoned by the Japanese and spent over four years in POW camps. Amazingly, they all survived. It's certainly left a lasting, unspoken legacy on this family.

Hey Randy....how about pre-war film footage?

The table can't handle that at the moment, so only photographs, high res if possible. But I'd be curious to see pre-war film footage.

I submitted 2 photos . how can I confirm if the submission went through correctly as there was no confirmation message displayed after I hit submit button?

They are arriving. The person in charge of handling them returns on Wednesday. Please send high resolution scans up to 10mb.

Thanks for the invitation. A nice project !! I have submitted 4 photos from the early 1900 in Warsaw, Poland.

How can I see the photos which already uploaded? Without registration I see only the example. But, maybe on the photos, which already uploaded, not registered people can recognize somebody?

Randy, it asks for the story behind the photo. I showed my mom most of the photos we have of her relatives who perished during the Holocaust, and though she knew them well, she does not know the story behind the photo. what should I do.

Nina, the photos will be uploaded to the touchscreen table and will be viewable by visitors there.

Lin, just do the best you can identifying the photos.

High resolution please.

Ok, I understood. No virtual access to the uploaded photos. Only people, physically visiting the museum in Los Angeles can see the photos.
Are you planning to make virtual access to the collection in the future?

We don't have plans for virtual access at the moment, just for the interactive table in the museum.

What about sharing these photos with other holocaust museums? There would be a limited number of us on Geni that would have access to visiting the museum in Los Angeles.

I don't think any other museums have a display such as ours.

Also, the Fritz Bauer Institute in Frankfurt is doing projects which seek photos. Please see: http://www.geni.com/documents/view?doc_id=6000000022466903912
