There is a gold prospector by the name of Levy mentioned at :

Do you know if your Levy went to the Transvaal?

I found out, lately, that my grand parents SALOMO and ROSA LEVY, who lived in Paarl, adopted a girl, who was born in 12.9.1891, her name was LINNY LEVY, but I have no other, information about her
they had left Paarl in 1902 to Germany, with Linny (archive of Mannheim found it ) but except this document, there is no information about her.
where could I find more info. about her adoption etc?

thank you all

Private User, if you have an interest in gold prospectirs, that is a subject dear to my heart. My father Emanuel Jacobson was a gold prospector in the Upper Witwatersrand Reef and OFS from 1933. He is mentioned in a number of print publications such as "Historical Monuments of South Africa", "The Gold Miners" and Mining and Engineering Journals.

Private User, perhaps there is something useful in my books on the Jewish Communities of South Africa. Send me a pm with the details and I'll take a look for you.

Pam Karp,

You need to add your father to more projects.

FYI, I finally found the path between us: Pam Karp is your great uncle's great nephew's wife's third great aunt's husband's second great niece.

My father was born in Paarl in 1908. His parents Henry and Minnie Weiner (nee Lurie) met and then married there in 1907. I would love to know if any other Luries or Weiners were there before them and what they did there.
