Just found this interview, which has promising material for genealogy (not to mention other discipllines), if anyone can connect: http://www.centropa.org/index.php?nID=30&x=PXVuZGVmaW5lZDsgc2Vh...

I'll give it a shot!

OK, I've found his family in Benesov records, but they aren't linked to anyone on Geni. Can I start a tree from zero?

Not sure. What I do is start the person somewhere and then sever the relationships to make a separate tree. i think only curators can do it. So, let me know if you set up someone that I need to sever. Ultimately you will probably connect him up to some of the other Benesov families.

Any PRO can start a new tree. Easiest: make yourself a new sibling, cut the parent connection.

Thanks, Erica & Randy. I'm involved in other projects (not just weeding) but may do this. I plan to post on JewishGen's Family Finder.

@Randy & @Erica, I've started the new tree with this person:

Adolf Frischmann

How to sever the family from my tree? So far no nibbles from other Geni-niks.

Edit relationships tab, bottom of screen

Adolf is connected to your tree in 2 ways.
You may remove one or more connections below, however doing so may split the tree.

Relationship Remove
[ ] Parents: Philip (Yehudah) Freschl (1816 - 1888) & Karoline Freschl (Lederer) (1818 - 1887)
[ ] Wife: Františka Frischmann (Wallerstein) (deceased)

Put your X (select the check box) on where you want it disconnected. And go ahead, split th tree.

Be sure and set for PUBLIC instead of PRIVATE in the edit basics tab, radio button, upper right hand corner. Thats why no one else can see.

Thanks, Erica - Done - and it didn't hurt a bit!
Too bad new profiles are still listed as private - hope to change them all.
Cheers,
Judith
