I am researching the genealogy and the relatives of the following Taranto of Edirne, and later Istanbul Turkey who were members of the congregation of Kahal Kadosh Puglia or Apulia in Edirne
Shalom (de) Taranto (born circa.1830)
(my great-great -grand father)
father of
Lea a.k.a Dudu; Bolisu; Aaron a.k.a Behor; and Itzhak and Bolisu
Lea a.k.a Dudu married Shemuel Gerassi (son of NIssim) in 1873 ( Kal Puglia).
Bolisu married Yossef Danon (son of Baruch) in 1882 ( Kal Puglia).
Aaron a.k.a Behor (believed to have) married 4 times (Kal Puglia)
1. Before 1870 to wife whose name is not known
2. Before 1870 to to a wife whose name is unknown and from this marriage he had a daughter named Esther
3. In 1870 to la bivda Bienvenida Bivas(?) (daughter of Yeshua ) and from this marriage he had a son named Schelomo NIssim who in 1910 married Esther Razon( daughter of Avraham)
4. In 1873 to la divorcada Simhula Adato (daughter of Yossef) from which marriage he had a daughter named Zimbul who in 1910 married Avraham Cozi (son of Yomtov)
Itzhak (my great-grand-father) is also believed to have married 4 times (Kal Puglia in Edirne):
1. Before 1871 to a wife whose name is unknown and from this marriage he had a son named Shelomo;
2. In 1871, to Estreya Liutchi (?) (daughter of Avraham b. Itzhak) from this marriage he had twi children: Avraham who married Sultana Levy (daughter of Hizkia Yossef of Sophia) and Hursi
3. In 1878, to. ??Halfon (daughter of Mordehai) and from this marriage he had a son named Mordechai a.k.a Shapat born in 1880 who in 1904 married Tamar Roza Burla (daughter of Yehuda of Kahal Kadosdh Samokov)
4. In 1900, he married la bivda Mazaltov Bina ? (her former married name)Burla (daughter of Yehuda of Kahal Kadosh Samokov.)
ISTANBUL
Mordechai a.k.a Shapat (my grand-father) and Roza Tamar Burla (married in Edirne in 1904) migrated to Istanbul ( circa.1913) deceased and buried in the Italian Cemetery with his wife Rosa.
They had 6 surviving children whose names are
Sol married in Sophia, Bulgaria, migrated to Israel in 1947-deceased.
Dr. Izhak (Izettin) married in Istanbul to Renée Franco-deceased in NewYork.
Zelda married in Istanbul to Josef Kordovi, deceased.
Dr Sami , emigrated to Israel in 1948, changed his surname to Eytan, deceased
Miryam (Mary) married in Istanbul Izak Selvi (Kamhi), deceased.
Mazaltov a.k. a. Ines (my mother) married Davit Akman(Aseo) in Istanbul, immigrated to Canada, both deceased.
