Sharon, as you work through this area of the tree you are likely to find name forms in all of the Nordic languages, as well as Old Norse. It can be particularly confusing when you're trying to understand nominatives and genitives.

Have we chosen a standard for medieval Orcadian names? Old Norse? Or one of the modern Nordic languages?
Thor "Pelle" Egede-Nissen, there is no question. really. I'm just recording - out of courtesy - that one of the possible spellings has been elided by the Data Conflict Resolution.
I'm doing this in case anyone wants to make a different decision about which spelling goes on the profile. This way that option isn't lost by what may seem to be an arbitrary Curator decision.
It allows people to later go back and make a different decision, while logging their thought process here, and to open the discussion to everyone interested in any important questions to do with our choice of data for the profile - such as Justin Durand has raised above.
