Ask.com says that his mother: Joan Rich (Dingley) was rumored to be one of Henry VIII's mistresses between 1525 - 1529.
If this is true she would have been between the ages of 53 -57 years old.

I suspect Ask.com mixed up two Joan Dingley's in Tudor England - this one

Ask.com relies heavily on user-submitted responses, which means (like on Geni) information may not be accurate unless well-sourced. I would exercise caution with that one.
