John Cheney is my second cousin 15 times removed. However as I remember from NEGHS, which is a reliable source, the American Cheney ancestor has never been linked with evidence to a British ancestor, so take this with a grain of salt. I'll check Katherine momentarily.

John CHENEY is my third cousin 16 times removed per GENI records, 14 times removed by my records. Last direct Cheney in my line is Hannah, b. 1683, granddaughter of emigrant John Cheney of Wyberton, daughter of Peter of Newbury, MA. She married Lionel Chute.
