I have a question.

Is there a deeper historical meaning with this project?

I think Harald Klak is an interesting character in many ways one of the things is that he was christened, at that time Vikings was not that found of priests.

Christianity was not that big an issue to the Vikings, and priest really had to be true believers and loyal to god because there life ended very fast in these northern part of Europe, they meet their maker a little sooner than most ot them might have expected.

Harald Klak however benefited for being christened, it can be discussed if he did it to gain power which seems to be the most logical or if he indeed was switching he´s pagan’s gods with Christianity because he had a heart full which wanting to christen the Danes.

Harald Klak II Halvdansson, King of Denmark is my 29th great-grandfather.

Cynthia, I believe Rhonda was saying that she has two paths to Harald -- in other words, she descends from him two different ways. For most of us of European ancestry, we have multiple ways to trace back to ancient royalty.

That is correct Ashley.... multiple ways , all from the MP.

My 31st GGF.... Interestingly in the same lineage, Robert The Bruce is my 18th (which my family already knew). So he was the 13th great grandson of Harald.

I call him harald klak, so I have him alright.

Harald Klak

If Harald Klak is related to you in any way through Thyra Haraldsdatter ( Dane Bod), you might have to add an adittional GGF. The reason is very simpel Harald Klak was dead before she was born. Harald Klak died 844 aged 44-50
Harald Klak had a son Harald Earl of Jylland who was born bef 852 and died 904. So Thyra Haraldsdatter, might be a Daughter of Harald Earl of Jylland, until I am sure how Thyra is reIated l will wait a little to determin what i do with Harald Klak
