Thankyou very much for contacting me. King Henry I is indeed my 25th great grandfather not to mention of course my relationship to his father William the Conqueror. This was discovered a few years ago while researching the Dalrymples of Stair in Scotland.
Sir James Dalrymple, 1st Viscount Stair was my 8 x great grandfather. His ancestry led me to the Kennedy family of Bargany and ultimately to Princess Mary Stewart, the daughter of Robert III of Scotland. it was this line that took me back to my 20 x great grandfather Robert the Bruce and even further back to Henry I

Henry I is my 27th GGrandfather and Lady Aimee, you are my 12th cousin. http://www.geni.com/path/Katherine+Long+is+related+to+Aimee+C+Speid... I love finding cousins from all over the world. I always loved history. Now with GENI, it brings it all closer to home. I dearly wish, when my family lived in England 1975 -1980, we had this ability to connect. I was amongst family everywhere I went!

He is my 26th great grandfather although my wife is quick to remind me that the lineage runs through Robert de Caen who is the offspring of one of Henry's concubines. Alas, I did not get my invitation to the royal wedding!

Lady Aimee
... and we are 19th cousins five time removed. That's seems a bit distant to be sharing Thanksgiving dinner together, but we're all family nonetheless. The beauty of geni is that it shows we are all family in one way or another.

Yes 25th GGF as well. i wonder which of his 12 partners was my 25th g-g mother? As 'closely' related as we all are, most of us are only half of that again. Im guessing the 12 partners is just those who he bore children with. No doubt there were others besides. Oh to be King!!!
