Gustavo Ferrero Gómez wouldn't that be wonderful if finding out that we are all cousins make the world better?!

For one thing, at least we are getting to know one another in spite of the distances, one the other hand, communications nowadays allow us to reach beyond our borders easily, and GENI is teaching us that we are all blend of history. I checked for example Mr. Eero Setälä (By the way Hi !!! Finnish ?) and we are 30TH cousins 6 times removed, and he has definitely Spanish ADN as do many of the participants in this Forum, as we have English, German, Danish ....you name it. In terms of music, for example, I vibrate with all the composers of the European History. Yes perhaps we are starting to expand our world, in a few years all the information we handle here should be divulgated broadly, I do not doubt that will happen.

Hi Cousin Aimee!!

Eleanor of Aquitaine lived 1122-1204. If she is your 23rd great grandmother that means 25 generations in 889 years, or an average of 35 years per generation. This is quite possible, with men in their 40s and 50s often siring children.

Cleopatra VII, however was born 69 BCE. -- 2079 years ago. If she was a person born in 1958's 37th great grandmother, that would 39 generations in 2028 years or an average of (2028/39=) 52 years per generation. This seems highly unlikely. If the path you are following is through Eleanor of Aquitaine, that would mean just 14 generations in the 1190 years between their births or 85 years per generation.

With Cleopatra VII being a 52nd great-grandmother, that would be 54 intervening generations in 20xx years or an average of 38 years per
generation. This is slightly possible.

I know that in my family tree, some 14th century great*N grandparents have N differing by 6 depending upon the lineage path i select, and some 12th century great*N grandparents have N differing by 10 generations. So If Cleopatra is your 52nd great-grandmother, she is probably also your 72nd great grandmother (& most if not all gradations in between).

Hi Family! Nice to meet you all! Eleanor of Aquitaine, Queen of France and England is my 25th great grandmother.

Hi and Happy New YearEleanor of Aquitaine, Queen of France and England is my 26th great grandmother.

Fornjotur King of Kvenland is my 55th great grandfather.

Leonor de Inglaterra, reina consorte de Castilla
is my 22nd great aunt´s mother.

She's my 22nd great grandmother from my father's side and also my 24th great grandmother from my mother's side. I only wish that Geni would allow us to view all of the various relationships that actually exist between two people, a feature that is available on Ancestry.com.

I agree Enrique, it would be nice to have that instead of using the pin to view relationships from a different ancestor.

Eleanor of Aquitaine, Queen of France and England is my 27th great grandmother via her daughter and grandaugher Matilde and Matilde. Hello cousins :)

Geni says Eleanor of Aquitaine is my 27th g-grandmother through her daughter Matilda Plantagenet (and a long list of other people wandering through northern Europe and Scandinavia). It is stuff like this that makes me think these sights are nothing but a money-making hoax!
